The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is for the abolition of death penalty in Armenia, RPA Chairman and Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian stated at the RPA's 8th congress. According to Margarian the party has been for the abolition of the death penalty since the very beginning, providing an exception be made in the case of the perpetrators of the terrorist act of October 27, 1999.
