the Thai Ministry of  Labour announced that two Thai nationals had recently been executed in Saudi Arabia for illegally smuggling drugs into the country. The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Labour, Thapabutr Jamasevi, in his capacity as the Labour Ministry Spokesman, said that the two Thais were identified as Mr. Uthai Mahanam and Mr. Bancherd Sangniam, it was not known when the execution had taken place. "The two Thai nationals were executed for smuggling 200 kilogrammes of marituana into the Middle Eastern country", he disclosed. 
"Mr. Uthai, 51, was from Thailand's northeastern province of Khon Kaen. He had run business in Jeddah for over 10 years, while Mr. Bancherd had criminal records in Saudi Arabia and used to be jailed, and had changed his names several times", he said.
