The total number of former South Lebanon Army members sentenced to death in absentia rose to 54, after the Military Tribunal announced five new convictions

The total number of former South Lebanon Army members sentenced to death in absentia rose to 54, after the Military Tribunal announced five new convictions.
Husseub Murtadha, Maan Ibrahim Farfoor, Maroun Elias Abu Ghannam, Ali Suleiman al-Sayyed and Jean Ibrahim Helou were found guilty of collaborating with Israel.
In keeping with tribunal procedure, the men will be granted a second hearing if they are arrested.
Eight other former SLA members, present in court, were also found guilty of collaboration, and were given sentences ranging from nine months to seven years.
