The Ugandan High Court sentenced to death Charles Wafula, Stephen Lulakala and Godfrey Namanda after finding them guilty of murdering a resident of Nalyamagonja, in the Wakiso district.
The judge had rejected their defense of alibi, saying that the suspects had fled the village for some time after the incident before they were arrested.
The Court had heard that on April 21, 2002, the suspects and others still at large, hacked to death Douglas Kiggwe.
It was alleged that the suspects had earlier accused the victim of having incriminated them to the police in an unmentioned crime.
