Three drug traffickers were executed in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province. The Zhengzhou Railway Transport Intermediate Court sentenced Guo Fei and Yu Zhuan to death on charges of drug trafficking. The two had allegedly shipped 6,037.6 grams of heroin and 5,298 grams of opium from Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, to Wuhan in mid-December 2001. The verdict also ordered confiscation of all their personal property. The same court sentenced Zhang Hanchen to death also on charges of drug trafficking. Zhang was caught on 18 July, 2002 in Wuhan, when the police found 229.8 grams of heroin on him. It was alleged that whilst under house arrest, he organized other people to ship 4,677.6 grams of heroin from a county in Yunnan to Wuhan. Zhang was reportedly caught red-handed when he was taking delivery of the shipment. The verdict also ordered confiscation of all Zhang's personal property.
