Tika Ram, a citizen of Nepal, was sentenced to death for murdering five members of a family in India in 1996. Observing that there was "reliable and clinching" evidence against the convict Additional Session Judge C K Chaturvedi ordered that "he be hanged till death". It was alleged that whilst Ram was working as domestic servant in a house in Vasant Kunj in South Delhi, he murdered five people, including the master of the house, his wife Sobha, their daughter, their son and another servant.
