It was reported that the judge, "holding these brutal murders as rarest of rare cases, directed that Yadav be hanged till death." According to the prosecution, Yadav murdered his family members during an argument on the night of 31 March 2000. It was alleged that the accused murdered his wife with an axe after suspecting her of having illicit relations with another man. Then, in a fit of rage, murdered his daughters which had come from an adjoining room in an attempt to save their mother.
