in Trinidad & Tobago, former Police Constable Dave Burnett, 39, from Belmont, had his death sentence commuted to 15 years jail with hard labour by Chief Justice Ivor Archie, and Justices Alice Yorke-Soo Hon and Rajendra Narine. Burnett was convicted of fatally shooting Kevin Cato, 18, from Cunupia, at a Chaguaramas fete on January 24, 2004. He was sentenced to death on March 21, 2006. The Privy Council sent the case to the appeals court on November 4, 2009.
