Two Afghans convicted of six murders were executed by hanging in a prison in the northern Iranian city of Saveh.
A police source identified the two men as Jomeh Arab (also known as Sadegh Karimi), convicted of four murders, and Mohammad Tajik who was convicted of two murders.
One of the victims was a cellmate of Arab, while the others were taxi drivers working around Tehran. The pair had been arrested in 2001.
