Two Hong Kong residents were executed in southern China for murdering a friend then chopping up his body. The two convicted men, surnamed Xu and Qiu, were executed after languishing in jail for four years, the Shenzhen News said. According to the newspaper, they lured their friend, a Hong Kong resident surnamed Li, to the southern boomtown of Shenzhen just across the Hong Kong border for a dinner on June 30, 2000. Instead, they kidnapped him, forced him to give them his bank account and passport details then injected him with heroin causing a massive, fatal overdose. Xu and Qiu took 13,800 Hong Kong dollars from Li's bank and chopped up his body before disposing of it, the paper said. They were arrested in a Shenzhen hotel several days later.
