Two men convicted on murder charges were executed by firing squad in Vietnam's capital, state media reported.
Tran Duc Ngoc, 24 and Le Nguyen Nam, 23 were put to death in Hanoi, the Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People's army) said.
Ngoc, a drug addict, was handed the death sentence for killing a 76-year-old woman to rob her of gold to buy heroin in June 1999. Nam was executed for beating to death another inmate in a remand centre in the Vietnamese capital in November 2002.
Vietnam has stepped up the pace of executions since January.
State media said another prisoner was executed on February 18 for attempted murder in the central highland of Dak Lak.
