two staff at a Chinese drug rehabilitation centre were sentenced to death for beating an inmate to death and another nine jailed for taking part in the violence. Tang Caiqiang and Chen Junliang were convicted of killing Hong Yabo, an inmate in a public security bureau drug rehabilitation centre, by Hainan province's Intermediate Court, the Beijing Times reported, without saying when they were sentenced. Another three members of staff who helped beat and kick Hong were sentenced to life imprisonment while six more were given 10 years each, the report said. 
The report said Hong died of internal bleeding and multiple injuries. An autopsy also found he suffered several broken ribs and his lungs were crushed.
