the Ugandan Court of Appeal, led by Deputy Chief Justice, Alice Mpagi Bahegeine, upheld the death sentence of Alice Twikiriza for murdering her step daughter, Immaculate Mahura, 5, by drowning her in River Mpanga in 2001. She was sentenced by Justice Lamech Mukasa in the Fort Portal high court on February 11, 2005.
