UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: MAID AND BOYFRIEND GET DEATH PENALTY FOR KILLING EMPLOYER

Ahmed Saeed Al Naqabi of the Khorfakkan Criminal Court of First Instance in the United Arab Emirates sentenced an unidentified housemaid and her boyfriend, both from Bangladesh, to death for murdering the maid's Emirati employer Layla Al Gawi, 42, at her house in Khorfakkan on February 12. They allegedly stole jewellery and nearly Dh20,000 in cash.
