According to the study “American Values Survey”, an overall 44% of U.S. voters prefer the death penalty, while 48% prefer life without parole. Splitting data, White Evangelical Protestants are 59 death, 34 life, White Mainline Protestants are 52-40, Black Protestants are 25-68, Hispanic Protestants are 24-68, White Catholics are 45-50, Hispanic Catholics are 29-62, Jewish are 33-57, other non-Christian religions are 31-60, unaffiliated are 44-48.
