Circuit Judge Clyde Jones sentenced Anthony Lane, 21, black, to death by lethal injection for the May 22, 2009 murder of Frank Wright, 57, during a robbery. The Jefferson County jury recommended the death penalty on April 4 (see). Surveillance images from a convenience store near the car wash linked Lane, who was 19 at the time, to the killing. Police found Lane, and he confessed to killing Wright.
