Serial killer Jack Trawick was executed tonight. Trawick, 62, white, was executed for abducting, stabbing and strangling Stephanie Gach, 21, on the night of Oct. 9, 1992. He had been on death row at Holman Correctional Facility since 1994, and made no legal efforts to stop his execution. He also had claimed to have committed another murder, that of Aileen Pruitt, 26, four months before Gach's death, and 2 other women in the Pacific northwest. Trawick's execution was the 5th this year in Alabama, the 43rd since Alabama resumed  executions in 1983. Trawick becomes the 32nd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1168th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
