USA - California. Judge Christian Theirbach sentenced Emrys John, 23, Black, to Death

Riverside County Judge Christian Theirbach sentenced Emrys John, 23, Black, to death and sentenced his co-defendant, 25-year-old Kevin Cox, to 2 life terms in prison without parole. The 2 were convicted in June of killing Marine Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and his wife, Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, in their home. Jenkins-Pietrzak was sexually assaulted. A 3rd defendant, Tyrone Miller, was sentenced to death last month and a 4th is awaiting trial. Prosecutors say all 4 had worked with Pietrzak while stationed at Camp Pendleton and they intended to rob him.
