USA - Colorado. Judge Gerald Rafferty formalized the death sentence of Robert Ray

Arapahoe County District Court Judge Gerald Rafferty today formalized the JUNE 8, 2009 death sentence of Robert Ray. Ray, 24, black, was convicted for his involvement in the murders of Javad Marshall-Fields and Vivian Wolfe in 2005. Marshall-Fields was a witness who was going to testify against Ray in a murder trial from a case in 2004. They were killed the night before Marshall-Fields was supposed to testify. Prosecutors said Ray and his friend, Sir Mario Owens, killed the couple. Owens was convicted of their murders in 2008 and was sentenced to death. He's on Death Row in Canon City.
