A Duval County jury voted 9-3 in recommending the death penalty for Arthur James Martin, 42, Black. Martin was found guilty in the October 2009 murder of Javon Abdullah Daniels, 19. Martin was released from prison five months before the shooting after serving 10 years for second-degree murder in Dade County. Judge Linda McCallum will formalize the sentence in the next weeks.
