USA - Florida. A jury recommended the death penalty for Dontae Morris, 28, Black

A Hillsborough County jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for Dontae Morris, 28, Black, for the June 29, 2010 killing of 2 police officers, David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab. The state also informed jurors that Morris was sentenced earlier this year to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing Rodney Jones at a nightclub just 30 days before he murdered the officers. Morris' sentencing by the judge will likely take place early next year. A hearing for more evidence has been set by Judge William Fuente for January 10, 2014.
