USA - Florida. A jury sentenced Arthur James Martin, 42, black, to death.

A Duval County jury voted 9-3 in recommending the death penalty for Arthur James Martin, 42, black. Martin shot Javon Abdullah Daniels, 19, in October 2009. Martin was released from prison 5 months before the shooting after serving 10 years for 2nd-degree murder in Dade County. He will return to court in May to allow his defense an opportunity for final pleas of leniency to Circuit Judge Linda F. McCallum.
