The Florida Supreme Court overturned the conviction and death sentence of Michael Renard Jackson, 42, black. Jackson was sentenced to death in 2010 (see APRIL 30 and JULY 16,) for the January 2007 rape and murder of Andrea Boyer, 25. The Supreme Court, in a 5-2 decision, found that a lengthy videotape of an interrogation Clay County sheriff’s detectives conducted with Jackson prejudiced the jury because detectives repeatedly expressed their view that he was guilty.
