Linda Carty, a British citizen on Death Row in Texas, USA, could be executed within months after having her latest appeal rejected.
She only now has recourse to a Supreme Court Appeal.
The Fifth Circuit court in New Orleans conceded that Carty received an inadequate defence at her murder trial in 2002 but refused to reverse the jury's decision.
She was convicted for her part in the abduction and murder of a 25-year-old woman whose new-born baby she was allegedly trying to steal.
Last week, Carty made a plea to Gordon Brown and the British public to intervene and help save her life.
