USA - Louisiana. Judge Robert Burgess sentenced Brian Horn, 37, White, to death.

DeSoto Parish Judge Robert Burgess today sentenced Brian Horn, 37, White, to death. On April 2, an East Baton Rouge jury convicted Horn, a twice-convicted sex offender, in the March 30 2010 kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Justin Bloxom. 3 days later the same jury voted in favor of the death penalty. The jury was selected in East Baton Rouge Parish, after defense attorneys claimed publicity surrounding the case made it impossible to get an impartial jury in north Louisiana. Bloxom was abducted and murdered by Horn, who posed as a teenage girl sending text messages to lure Justin out to his taxi that night, where it is believed Horn suffocated the child.
