USA - Mississippi. A jury sentenced Timothy Evans, 56, White, to death

A Hancock County jury unanimously sentenced Timothy Evans, 56, White, to death. The jury that found him guilty Thursday of robbing and killing his 70-year-old landlord Wenda Holling on Jan. 2, 2010. Evans confessed to the crimes in a recorded interview with a detective and in a letter to Sun Herald reporter Donna Harris. Harris later interviewed Evans while he was held at the Pearl River County jail. She and the detective testified at Evans' trial. Judge Lisa Dodson upheld the jury's decision and formally sentenced Evans.
