USA - Pennsylvania. A jury sentenced John Lewis to death

A Philadelphia jury sentenced John Lewis to death. Lewis, 23, apologized to the family of slain officer Chuck Cassidy, whom he shot on Oct. 31, 2007 during a doughnut-store robbery. Lewis pleaded guilty to a general murder charge earlier this month, but left it for the jury to decide his degree of guilt. The jury convicted him of 1st-degree murder last week.
