A Montgomery County jury sentenced Raghunandan Yandamuri, 28, for the 2012 slayings of a baby and the baby's grandmother, 10-month-old Saanvi Venna and 61-year-old Satayrathi Venna. Prosecutors say Yandamuri had planned to kidnap the two but botched it. They say he wanted money for gambling debts. Judge Steven O’Neill announced he would hold a formal sentence hearing in 45 days in which Yandamuri will be formally sentenced to death and will also be sentenced for the additional charges.
