A federal jury sentenced Joseph Ebron to death today. U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone upheld the sentence right after. Jurors found Ebron guilty on May 11, 2009. Ebron, 30, a federal inmate, has been sentenced to die for the May 7, 2005 murder of Keith Barnes, a fellow prisoner at the United States Penitentiary in Beaumont (USP-Beaumont). Surveillance film from cameras inside the cell block revealed that Ebron was involved in Barnes' murder. It was the third murder Ebron’s has been convicted of in the last 15 years. One was committed when he was 15, the other one when he was 17.
