The Ho Chi Minh City court handed down a life sentence to his accomplice Dam Cam Vi, who was caught red-handed possessing six cakes of heroin weighing almost 2.1 kg on 29 August 2004 outside of the Thuan Kieu Plaza.
Phu and Vi were found guilty of trafficking heroin for a Chinese citizen named Co, who paid them 4,000 US dollars for each delivery. They had opened the Trans-Continent Company based at 68 Co Giang Street, District 1, HCM City for cross-border trading.
