the People's Court in the northern province of Hoa Binh has sentenced four people involved in the largest drug trafficking ring in the province to death.
They are Nguyen Quang Huy and his wife Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy from Hai Phong city, Nguyen Van Hoang from Hung Yen province and Tran Van Long from Hoa Binh province.
The Huy-Thuy couple were caught red-handed on January 4, 2005 when police found 44 cakes of heroin, weighing about 15 kg in total, hidden in their car.
Two other defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment, while three others received jail terms of between four and 20 years.
They are Nguyen Quang Huy and his wife Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy from Hai Phong city, Nguyen Van Hoang from Hung Yen province and Tran Van Long from Hoa Binh province.
