Viktor Pokhmelkin, a member of the Union of Rightist Forces (SPS), welcomed Vladimir Putin's statement that the death penalty will agian come into force in Russia.
The Union of Rightist Forces planned to bring up Protocol 6 for discussion in the State Duma at the beginning of the autumn session of the Parliament, Pokhmelkin said. The SPS faction had already come out in favour of deleting the death penalty from the Criminal Code.
