the Transnational Radical Party (TRP), "Radicali italiani", "Hands Off Cain", "No Peace Without Justice", the "Esperanto Radikala Asocio", TRP MEPs and activists today launched a nonviolent action or Satyagraha entitled: "24 November, World Day of Fasting and Nonviolence for the Inclusion of Women in the Afghani Provisional Government".
The Afghani Provisional Government should include women, the promoters said in a press statement. Their presence is an absolutely necessary, though not a sufficient condition, to ensure civil, social, human, juridical and political progress for the noble, suffering country and the entire region that shares and determines its future.
This political objective cannot be reduced to a mere auspice for or to a marginal aspect of the work of those who are setting up a provisional Government for Afghanistan, but needs to be swiftly pursued, the statement read.
“In order to do this, we need to mobilize the public opinion as well as all those who want to fight against terrorism effectively and the violent regimes that oppress many regions of the world. We need to mobilize them through a Gandhian nonviolent action, through an initiative rooted in political democracy, the rule of law, freedom and justice as well as tolerance and human solidarity.”
The promoting organisations said they will issue further information about the Satyagraha on their websites.
