Zambia released a second group of soldiers who were serving jail sentences in connection with an attempted coup in 1997 against former president Frederick Chiluba, the state-run Zambia Daily Mail reported.
The 13 were released from the Mukobeko maximum prison a few days after 14 ex-soldiers were freed. The soldiers were among 54 who were sentenced to death for their role in the attempted coup but President Levy Mwanawasa commuted their sentences to jail terms.
