Zimbabwean Home Affairs Minister Dumiso Dabengwa and U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe Tom McDonalds signed, after three years of work, an extradition treaty which will help law enforcement agents to track down criminals in the two countries. Under the treaty, the two countries agreed that an individual could be extradited only if he or she had committed a criminal and not a political offence. They also agreed that individuals could be extradited to face a death sentence only if the individual had committed a criminal offence that warranted the noose.
