A 28-year-old drug addict was executed in Vietnam for murdering and stealing money from a gasoline vendor in order to buy heroin. Nguyen Manh Hong was put to death at dawn at an execution ground in the Lang Giang district of Bac Giang province, 80 km northeast of Hanoi. He had been sentenced to death in December 2003 after confessing to stabbing to death his victim on May 26, 2003. He was arrested the same day.
