Kabir Hossain was sentenced to death

Kabir Hossain was sentenced to death for killing his wife Beauty, 16, for dowry at Gazaria, Bangladesh, in January 2004. Hossain, 22, broke down in tears when the district and sessions judge, Ali Mansoor, pronounced the verdict. His parents and brother accused in the case were acquitted. 
According to the prosecution, on 30 January 2004 Kabir poured kerosene on Beauty's clothes and set her on fire. Badly burnt she was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she died on February 18.
