A Chinese man convicted of impersonating a policeman to carry out robberies, was sentenced to death with two year's suspension by a Beijing court, the official Xinhua news agency reported
A Chinese man convicted of impersonating a policeman to carry out robberies, was sentenced to death with two year's suspension by a Beijing court, the official Xinhua news agency reported. Xu Ming, 41, in collusion with five people, robbed a total of 17 young women on six occasions from September to December 2001.
The Beijing resident lured his female victims to dine at a residence in the city's Shunyi district where the victims were tortured until they turned over their money and property, Xinhua said.
The man and his accomplices stole cash and property valued at 230,000 yuan (over 27,710 US dollars), according to court records.
The other five involved in the crime wire to be tried at a later date.
