Four brothers were sentenced to death in south China...

Four brothers were sentenced to death in south China for attempting to carry out two armed bank robberies which resulted in one person being killed and five others injured, state media said.
The four were sentenced in Guangdong province's Zhanjiang City Intermediate People's Court, the Guangzhou Daily reported. One of the four received a suspended death sentence which is usually commuted to life imprisonment.
Armed with pistols and riding on motorcycles, the brothers tried to rob a bank on January 13 and were waiting outside the bank for people who come each morning to deposit money into their accounts, the report said. One of the men rushed into the bank when he saw someone taking money inside, but a bank worker pressed an alarm, scaring off the four men who fled after firing several shots in the direction of the tellers' counter. No one was injured.
They went to another bank two days later and again waited outside the bank for money to be delivered. When they saw a customer coming out of the bank with money, they tried to rob him, but traffic police, a colleague of the customer and passers-by saw what was going on and fought with the robbers.
The robbers opened fire, hitting six people, one of whom died on the way to hospital. The others were slightly injured. Police arrested the brothers at the scene.
