A court in Dhaka, Bangladesh, sentenced a man named only as Borhanuddin to death in absentia for killing his father in 1998. According to the prosecution, Borhanuddin hit Sultan Mia, 50, with a sharp instrument as the latter insisted on his saying prayers. Fatally wounded, he died six days after being admitted into a local hospital.
