a court in Dhaka, Bangladesh, sentenced four people to death for the murder of six people, including four children, at a residence at Pallabi of the city. Judge AHM Mostaque Ahmed of the Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-II pronounced his verdict against Md. Azim, Masud Matabbar, Jakir Hossain Bahar and Quamruzzaman. Azim was the caretaker, while Masud-a driver of the complainant, Kazi Sirajul Haque- a businessman. Of the accused, three confessed to their involvement in the murder under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The prosecution alleged that on October 13, 2006, the accused committed armed robbery and slaughtered four children: domestic help Khadija, Anna, Manir and Tofail and former domestic help Rijia. They stole Taka 150,000 and gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas. Rijia and her child Tofail were murdered as they could identify the caretaker Azim and driver Masum.
