The condemned convicts were identified as Yunus Mandal, Shahidul Islam, Haider Ali and Fazlu Mandal, the two sentenced to life are Bishe Mandal and Sanwaruddin Biswas. The latter two were also fined Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer one year RI more. The convicts allegedly shot and chopped Alamgir Hossain to death at Sabdalpur village in Kotchandpur upazila on July 11, 1998. After examining 13 witnesses, Additional District and Session Judge-2 Rokeya Begum handed down the verdict.
