A court in Naogaon, Bangladesh, sentenced two people, including an Indian national, to death and awarded life imprisonment to two others for murder. Those condemned to death were Indian national Sri Subal Chandra Mondol, 40, and M Azizul Haque, 40. It was alleged the two killed carpenter Poran Mistri, 35, when he was on his way to Goalapathar in Shapahar on December 28, 1996 in order to rob him of Tk 65,000 he had due to having sold some land.
