A court in Narayanganj, Bangladesh, sentenced four people to death and five to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for the murder of Ashraful Haque Mollah, a pro-government student leader.
Mollah, a leader of Bandor thana Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, was killed as he was returning home with one of his associates on August 28, 2002.
Those sentenced to death were Boro Shahadat, 36, Badal alias Chhotaikka Badal, 32, Narayan, 34, and Suman alias Pichchi Suman, 30.
It was reported that two of the people convicted were tried in absentia, it was specified who.
