A death row inmate who was a day away from being lethally injected when a judge stayed his execution was resentenced to life in prison.Gregory Mills will be eligible for parole after 25 years. Since he already has served 22 years in prison, that could happen as soon as 3 years.Mills, 44, was condemned for the murder of 70-year-old James Wright, who was shot in May 1979.Circuit Judge O.H. Eaton Jr. halted Mills' execution 3 months ago and threw out his death sentence. He called the state's only eyewitness "possibly the least-credible witness that has ever appeared before this court."
