A man named as Sumon was sentenced to death in absentia and eight others to life term imprisonment in a double murder case. According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Shahanara Khatun Pata and her mother-in-law Jamila Khatun on March 4 in 1998. After examining the records and witnesses, Additional District and Sessions Judge Abu Ahmed Jamader handed down the verdict.
