A south Chinese court sentenced to death five people for the murder of former Phoenix TV vice president Zhou Yinan and his family.
Luo Jun, 39, who was previously identified in the media as the leader of the gang of killers, and four accomplices received their sentence at the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court.
Zhou, his wife, five-year-old daughter, accountant and a nanny were reportedly murdered on May 26 after the gang entered their home on the pretext of delivering bottled water.
They initially tied up their victims while searching the home for valuables, but decided to kill the five after discovering a bank card with a balance of more than six million yuan (720,000 dollars).
