An Additional District and Sessions court convicted four people and condemned them to death for throwing acid on two sisters in 2000

An Additional District and Sessions court convicted four people and condemned them to death for throwing acid on two sisters in 2000.
The convicts were named as Shalok alias Shahidul, Atiar, Bari Mandol and Noor Alam. The court also fined them Tk 50,000 each and directed the district magistrate to put their property on auction for sale and give the money to the victims as compensation.
According to the prosecution, the convicts entered the house of their neighbour Jalal Mandol on January 6, 2000 and threw acid on his sleeping daughters - Rubina and Rozina.
