Ayman al-Majali, Jordan's acting Foreign Minister, summoned the Iraqi envoy in Amman and "expressed the Jordanian government's protest against and astonishment at the execution of Jordanian citizen Dawud Sulayman al-Dalu without a prior announcement of the death sentence or giving excuses for issuing such a sentence". Al-Majali said Jordan had presented several requests and memorandums through the Iraqi Embassy in Amman and the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad to release al-Dalu. Al-Majali asked the Iraqi charge d'affaires "to convey the Jordanian government's protest against and condemnation of such an action against a Jordanian citizen". He asked him to provide Jordan "with full details about the charges that were levelled against late Al-Dalu and which led to passing the death sentence on him."
