Aysha Akhtar, a 35 year old female and her brother-in-law Shahidul Islam, 30, were sentenced to death by a court in Dhaka, Bangladesh for killing her two minor boys to eliminate witnesses to their illicit affair. According to the prosecution the two killed Najmu Islam Raju, 11, and Ariful Islam Nayan, 10, when the boys saw them in a compromising position on April 3, 2000. Nurul Alam filed a case with Mirpur Police Station accusing his wife Aysha of the murder. Admitting her guilt Ayesha in her confessional statement said she was given to marriage with Alam after the death of his first wife, who was her elder sister. Alam was a diabetic patient and could not meet her sexual urge.
